"Southern Street"
A series of condemned houses in
Salford, Greater Manchester
Southern Street, like many other streetscapes
in the former industrial heartland of Britain
consisting of rows of Victorian terraced houses,
was once a street full of vibrant working class
life.
Today most of its inhabitants are gone. The rows
of houses stand semi-derelict, waiting to be
demolished in order to make way for a series
of new building projects.
But when taking a closer look – and probably
not for very much longer – one can still
discover some of its former spirit and character.
