Adelboden summer season

The picturesque town of Adelboden is a Swiss idyll in the Bernese Alps: impressive peaks, blooming alpine meadows, rushing waterfalls, cozy wooden houses.

Thanks to its annual Ski World Cup race, the chalet village is world-famous as a classic winter sports resort. But winters are becoming more difficult. Climate change is now an issue. The use of snow cannons as well as a "bad weather programmes" of the tourism officials has become routine.

Thus the Adelboden summer season is gaining importance. The well-developed themed and hiking trails (including a wheelchair-accessible circular hiking trail on the Engstligenalp), as well as the numerous mountain bike routes and diverse folkloric entertainment programmes testify to this. A necessary reorientation and tendency that many winter sports resorts in the Alps have to deal with.
